Welcome to the, My MGB Website.
I am in the process of restoring
this 1974 MGB. Of course it needs some work, but I think it is well worth
it. Considering how much I picked it up for I can't hardly go wrong. I bought it
from a co-worker for only $75.00.
The
car had been setting out side for several years. Apparently some squirrels thought
it would make a nice place to live. They had made nests in the trunk, the fresh
air duct, the center consol and in both front fenders.
As
you can see in the photo, the little rascals had it behind and under the brake master
cylinder and brake fluid reservoir. I had to make a small hose adapter, so I could
get in to these tight areas. By time I was finished cleaning out the car, I had
filled a five gallon bucket twice with acorns, leaves and twigs. I also had to repair
some of the wires that were under the nests. The critters had gnawed at the outer
cover but not the wires.
When
I picked the car up, it was missing the starter and both batteries. Most of the electrical
components were disconnected. It appears that someone was trying to track down an
electrical problem.
